President Alar Karis is meeting today and tomorrow with local government leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the education sector in Harju County. The visit focuses on the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in the regional economy, the future of education, and the importance of civil protection and community cooperation.

The Head of State will visit Harju Elekter, recipient of the Company of the Year award, as well as Estanc, an industrial company that manufactures tanks primarily for export markets. Discussions will focus on the digitalisation of manufacturing and export opportunities.

President Karis will also meet employees of the Jüri Rescue Service Station to recognize the contribution of professional firefighters and discuss developments in the rescue sector. In addition, he will visit the Suursoo Village Association, which has been recognized for promoting civil protection, and learn about the community resilience centre established by local residents.

On Tuesday, the President will discuss regional development and opportunities for cooperation with local government leaders. He will also visit Saku Upper Secondary School, where he will take part in a discussion with teachers and students on the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in education.

President Karis will conclude his tour of Harju County at Radius Machining, a metalworking company specializing in serial CNC turning and milling operations.
