President Rüütel acknowledged Estonian Television's regional broadcasts, whereupon Ilmar Raag assured that this kind of broadcasts was to be continued. The President said that, in his opinion, the programme of TV under public law should offer more analysing broadcasts which were widely reflected in society and enabled the public to have a say, and also more educational broadcasts. Thus, the programme would better meet the expectations of people and cover problems important to them. They found jointly that, while putting together the programme, chances to work together with local governments and representatives of different areas of life should be used to a larger extent than so far.
