According to Archbishop Paarma, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, having due to common Finno-Ugrian heritage a particularly strong affinity for the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church, had followed closely their development and worked with them together in different fields.
The President of the Republic acknowledged the role of church in stabilizing society and found that the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church with its participation had definitely helped our society overcome difficult periods of transition.
Archbishop Jukka Paarma together with other Finnish clerics at the National Library of Estonia took part in the CITRA seminar "Suomi 2015" dealing with possibilities that Finland in 2015 were a country with a good human environment.
