The President of the Republic noted that the relations between Estonia and El Salvador are good, but rather modest and that Estonia is interested in strengthening political, economic and cultural ties with El Salvador. ''I wish your country success in implementation of reforms necessary for your further development. Socially and economically successful El Salvador will be a good cooperation partner for all its neighbours,'' President Rüütel said.
In the words of the Ambassador of El Salvador, his country sees Estonia as a partner with whom they are eager to cooperate more closely. The Ambassador extended to the Estonian Head of State greetings of the President of the Republic of El Salvador, Elias Antonio Saca, whom President Rüütel met during the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, in September 2004.
