Up to the end of 2002, Jüri Kann worked as Director of the Institute of Chemistry at Tallinn Technical University; he is Professor of the Tallinn Technical University. Dr Kann also is President of Estonian Chemical Society and belongs to several Estonian and foreign professional associations. In 1985, Jüri Kann was awarded Doctor of Biological Sciences by Leningrad Institute of Oncology.
Jüri Kann has been decorated with the IV Class Order of the White Star.
