The President of the Republic in his address recollected the producers idea of Theatre Olympics, which had been very important also to Estonia since 2001 when Estonia had won recognition of the world press for the premiere of "Apocalypse" staged here.
President Rüütel also highlighted Mr. Ljubimov as a great figure of the Russian theatre who had always been active and principled, seeking and offering new ideas and solutions, and whose Taganka Theatre had always played an essential role in shaping and developing the Russian theatre life.
The President made a resolution to honour theatre producer Yuri Ljubimov for his services on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
