The incumbent President in the years 1995-1999 was repeatedly Chairman of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly and, in the same period, headed the Riigikogu's delegation to the Baltic Assembly as well.
President Rüütel will meet with the Delegation of the Baltic Assembly due to the upcoming termination of the authorities of the 9th Riigikogu.
