The decision to award the decoration was made by President Kersti Kaljulaid during her time in office.
Edwards has served as honorary consul for nine years, taking every opportunity to promote Estonian-Chilean relations. He is a former career diplomat and lawyer who has dedicated himself to representing primarily foreign companies and individuals starting out in business in Chile.
