“The start-up and digital sector has been among the fastest growing areas of the Estonian economy,” said the Estonian head of state. “It is now time to bring the innovation that was born in the digital sector to the rest of the economy and the rest of the world. Clevon is a good example of this. By combining technology with business and entrepreneurship, Clevon has managed to create something that will transform the whole mobility sector and hopefully will help to build a better world. Clevon is among the companies that exemplify the success story of the Estonian technology sector to the whole world. This Viljandi-based start-up has proved that entrepreneurship also helps to improve the local community and innovation does not have to come from only capitals and business hubs.”
According to President Karis, Estonia is internationally known as an outstanding place for innovative entrepreneurship. “Our excellent business environment has given birth to ten unicorns. We hope that Estonia will have as many as 25 unicorns by 2025 and that one of them will be Clevon,” the head of state added. President Karis expressed hope that Clevon’s autonomous electric vehicles will be part of the future of transport.
President Karis also visited Dallas Regional Children’s Hospital yesterday, where he was given an overview of its experiences with handling mental health issues, and joined Ross Perot Jr for a tour in Hillwood industrial park, which is one of the country’s leading industrial, commercial and residential real estate developments covering an area roughly comparable to that of Tallinn.
