President Karis appoints new Minister of Culture to office

“I would like to thank Prime Minister Kallas and Centre Party chairman Jüri Ratas for finding a new Minister of Culture for Estonia as quickly as they have,” President Karis remarked. “There is not a day to waste. The field of culture, which has been hit so hard by the health crisis, needs an outspoken champion in the government. I spoke this afternoon with Mr Terik, who assured me that he would bring all of his political experience to bear in defending the interests of the sphere of culture. To me it is important that there is trust and a spirit of cooperation within the government – especially at a time like this.”
