Heinrich Brauss has been instrumental behind initiation of the defence and deterrence policy of NATO, including NATO's enhanced presence in Estonia and the other Baltic states.
"This decoration of the Republic of Estonia represents recognition of your work for the benefit of the Republic of Estonia," said President Kersti Kaljulaid at the presentation of the decoration.
