President Karis in Montenegro: Estonia is glad to share our knowledge, experiences and products

Dear Colleague, Excellences, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Estonia stands before you today as a nation that has built its future on digital foundations. We are recognized globally as a digital nation, pioneering  e-government solutions that have fundamentally transformed how citizens interact with their state.

From digital healthcare records to electronic voting, we have created a society where technology serves our people, not the other way around. This citizen-first approach has been our North Star, ensuring that every digital solution we implement makes life simpler, more efficient, and more secure for Estonians.

And not just for Estonians. Montenegro is one of the countries that has expressed interest on learning from our model and adopting similar digital solutions. We also share a strong commitment to cybersecurity.

Estonia is glad to share our knowledge, experiences and products in both of these fields. And not only share but also foster collaborations. We firmly believe that the digital transformative solutions will improve public administration, create business opportunities, benefit citizens, and, ultimately, make us all stronger as countries and as Europe.

The same mindset of innovation and technology for the public benefit has led us to take another bold step forward. Beginning next academic year, we will launch a nationwide initiative to integrate artificial intelligence tools directly into our classrooms. We are not simply introducing new technology – we are fundamentally reimagining education for the AI age.

Our teachers will receive comprehensive training to harness AI’s potential, ensuring our students are prepared for a future where artificial intelligence is not just a tool, but a fundamental component of life and work.

This educational transformation represents our commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators – young minds who will push the boundaries of what's possible even further than we have today.

We gather here with Montenegro because innovation thrives on collaboration. Estonia's digital journey has taught us that the most powerful solutions emerge when diverse perspectives unite around shared ambitions. Together, we can build bridges between our nations’ strengths and create innovations that serve not just our citizens, but contribute to global progress.

Thank you.
