Today President Kersti Kaljulaid met at Kadriorg with Dmytro Razumkov, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to confirm Estonia’s support of Ukraine and to encourage continuation of the reforms.

“Ukraine is well-positioned to attract foreign investments, but continued reforms and introduction of legislation that ensures the rule of law are important. Legal certainty and fight against corruption create a favourable business environment and create trust among investors,” president Kaljulaid said at the meeting. Estonia supports Ukraine’s efforts to join the European Union and NATO and will continue to provide development aid. We are also pleased that Ukraine’s e-governance is beginning to reach our level, the Head of State added.

The latest developments in the Donbass hostilities area, the Minsk Agreements and results of the Normandy Summit were also discussed at the meeting. President Kaljulaid reaffirmed Estonia’s position that the Minsk Agreements must be upheld, emphasising that all European countries must jointly condemn violations of these agreements.

Continuation of cyber defence cooperation was also discussed.
