Today the President of the Republic will attend the commemoration of the outbreak of World War II in Warsaw, Poland, together with 15 other Heads of State.

“Today is a sad day in history. For Estonia, the Second World War ended only 25 years ago, when the last wagons left our soil, with the equipment of the occupation forces. For our people, nation and state the outbreak of war meant more than half a century of suffering, economic decline, lack of freedom. Today, we stand here with many other heads of state to remember and commemorate this day. Only remembering will ensure that it will never happen again, ”said President Kersti Kaljulaid after the memorial ceremony.

In addition to the commemorative event, a bilateral meeting of the heads of state of Estonia and Georgia will take place in Warsaw.
