On June 15th Her Majesty Margrethe II will come for an official visit to Estonia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Estonia and 800th anniversary of the Danish flag Dannebrog. According to legend the Danish flag Dannebrog fell from the sky on June 15 1219 during the battle for the city, which is now called Tallinn.

The Queen will arrive on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog. She will meet with President Kersti Kaljulaid, open the exhibition “Dannebrog – The Flag That Fell from the Sky” at the Kadriorg Art Museum and the new Rose Garden in the centre of Tallinn. There will also be a family event on the Freedom Square, which will celebrate the Estonian and Danish flags with performances by artists from both countries.

In the evening there will be a gala concert at the Estonian Concert Hall and President Kaljulaid will host a Gala Dinner in honour of Her Majesty. The visit will end on June 16th with a service in the Tallinn Dome church, which was founded shortly after 1219.
