President Kaljulaid meets Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel in Kadriorg

Today in Kadriorg, President Kersti Kaljulaid met with Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, who are on an official visit to Estonia. The meeting and the following lunch focused on the economic cooperation between the two countries and environmental issues.

"Sweden is one of our closest partners, both on a political level and in trade, but in reality our paths have crossed throughout time in the stories of many families, and this connection remains strong today," President Kaljulaid said shortly after the meeting and lunch. "We currently understand the world in a very similar way – the situation in Europe and around us, but also environmental challenges and issues that keep emerging more and more acutely even here, around the Baltic Sea."

The main topics covered during the meeting included economic cooperation between Estonia and Sweden, especially in matters related to the digital world and environmental protection.

From Kadriorg, Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel headed to Naissaar with President Kaljulaid and Mr Georgi-Rene Maksimovski to participate in the re-consecration of the Chapel of Holy Mary. At 19:00 the Crown Princess and President Kaljulaid and their husbands will participate in the Estonia100 singing event at Tallinn's Song Festival Grounds.
