The King and Queen of the Netherlands will visit Estonia in June

The King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will come to a state visit to Estonia at the invitation of President Kersti Kaljulaid on June 12-13. The Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, Stef Blok, will accompany the royal couple.

The state visit is tied to the Estonia's 100. anniversary and will celebrate Estonia's independence and the excellent relations between the two countries, which through trade relations reach back to the 14th century. „I am very pleased that the royal couple decided to visit Estonia for our centenary. Nowadays our countries share a common understanding of European values and mutual contribution to NATO and peace operations across the world," said President Kersti Kaljulaid.

The state visit will focus on current and future cooperation, including e-governance, cyber security and innovative agriculture. The last royal visit to Estonia from the Netherlands was in 2008, when Queen Beatrix visited Estonia.
