President Kaljulaid to participate in the strategy forum of the Munich Security Conference

President Kersti Kaljulaid will today embark on a work visit to Germany where she will participate in a forum held to make preparations for Munich Security Conference that will take place at the beginning of next year.

The forum will bring together a small number of American and European opinion leaders, current and former politicians and think-tank representatives to discuss current foreign and security policy issues. The main goal of the forum is to outsource the important and hot topics to be discussed at the Munich Security Conference in February.

This is an annual gathering, which takes place in an informal, free and easy atmosphere; the discussed topics won't be made public (the so-called Chatham House rules). The Estonian Head of State received an invitation to take part in the event for the first time; she can contribute and address discussions on our region and focus on foreign and security policy issues that are important for Europe.

The Munich Strategy Forum will take place on 3-5 December and President Kersti Kaljulaid will return to Estonia on Tuesday night.
