Head of State at security conference: the budget of the European Union has to match the changed circumstances

"The euro and the refugee crisis together with the changed security situation are difficulties that contribute to the development of the European Union. We shall not retreat. Coping with the challenges that Europe is facing will demonstrate the ability of the Member States to stick to the values they established together. "Digital society is the society of the future. This will allow states to exchange information in real time, which holds key importance today, for the purposes of security," added President Kaljulaid.

President Kaljulaid participated, at the invitation of the organises, in a Globsec security forum panel on the future of Europe with the Slovak Finance Minister Peter Kažimir, former Polish Prime Minister Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, the Director of the Delors Institute, Yves Bertoncini, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Ivan Korčok.
